I stopped working on the fingerless gloves today in order to throw this scarf and hat set together for my mom. I had some Red Heart Light & Lofty laying around so I took two strands, put them on some size 50 needles and went to work with the basic knit stitch. I actually did it as a split scarf. I will post a picture of the hat later on.

No Groups
I realized this morning that part of the reason that I have not been knitting like I was when I lived in CA is that I am not around any knitters here in this little city. I have looked all over Ravelry and every knitting group that I have found is at least an hour away. I can NOT be the only person in this Elizabeth City, NC that knits. So, now I am on a mission to find a group where the members are in my surrounding age group (30s).

I figured it out!
This morning I was wondering where my size 5 needle tips were. I knew that they were on a project but I could not figure out what the project was and where it was located. I just opened my desk drawer at work and realized that there is a WIP in the back of the drawer. Wow... I was wondering where that cowl went....
Still not completed...
For some reason, I simply can not get a project completed in a normal time frame anymore. Since I have been here it has taken me months to put 10 rows on a simple shawl. I think that it is because I no longer have any knitters around me.
HowEVER, I DID find a new yarn store and that has made my week. It is called Knitting Addiction and it is located in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. I found it by using Knit Map. It was really nice and had a great layout. The owner Jeanie was genuinely nice and interested in helping her customers. I think that I have found a new yarn home on the east coast.
