New News

My scarf is going well but I stopped working on it for a while attending a hat making class. I probably should not have done that during the week of finals but it was worth it! It was like my own personal get away that no one knew about! I came out with a 4.0 for the semester and the hat turned out great! Here are a few pics....

Two NEW projects

Here are two new projects that I have started over the Thanksgiving break. I really like the idea of mixing yarns of two different textures together. The brown will be a scarf and the blue, green and white will be a blanket for my little JellyBean.

New News: The JellyBean

Ok. I went ahead and snatched out that messed up row on the sock. I also decided to take a picture of a few of my favorite scarves that I have completed.

Yes, the middle one is tubular and I actually did it on purpose. That is the scarf that I use the most at work. The tube is perfect because it does not fall off and does not get in the way.

Oh yes!!! I have a new Godson. He is Too CUTE!!! See...

I forgot...

Okay, so I decided to stay on campus for the holidays this year. I am simply too tired. I do not want to deal with anyone. No one seems to understand that. I have people around me all day everyday so when I have the opportunity to be alone and simply enjoy some downtime, I am going to take it. I am grooving to my maxwell cds and trying to figure out where I left off with the sock I started this summer. I think that I messed it up but I do not think that I am willing to snatch it out just yet. We will see...

Final Decision...So Far

I am so NOT going to be an academic librarian. NO NO NO!! I refuse. I want to be in a PUBLIC library!! I want to be able to discuss the things that I LIKE to read with my patrons. Not some dang article on who knows what...I do NOT want to write GRANTS and argue about who brought the most money to the school.

Countdown/Happy Moment

I am SO glad that this semester is almost OVER. I am counting down the days until I will be able to knit again.

I was driving down the road, totally pissed off because I could only drive 35 miles an hour when I discovered a PANDA EXPRESS!!! I was SO excited. This is not really a big deal to most people, but it was a big huge deal to me because I did not know that they had them here in North Carolina. That is going to become my comfort food whenever I get homesick.

Ok, I have not posted anything in forever. I have NO time. I have been driving myself crazy trying to work full time AND attend Grad School full time. Don't ever do that!! I would love to see what a nice strand of yarn looks like these days...

Adventure of the Day

Today Bree decided that she wanted us to go and find some yarn stores around the surrounding cities. She had me driving all over town in order to find this one store that ended up being a dilapidated old wood paneling house that looked as though it had been shut down by the health department 20 years ago. Needless to say there was a CLOSED sign on the door. NEXT!! We set off to find another yarn shop that was SUPPOSED to be one freeway exit away from where we were. Umm...WRONG!!! It turned out that we had gotten so turned around that when we finally found the freeway again, we were actually FOUR exits ahead of where we wanted to be. I had to make at least 10 U-turns today. We found the shop with like ten minutes left before they closed. Then from there we decided to go to another shop located forty minutes in the opposite direction past where we live...traffic...but we found it and then the place was closed.

Trying Again

Okay, I have started the sock AGAIN. After four more tries, it is finally starting to look like a sock again. I really love this ribbing.

Back to Point A

Ok. So I am starting this blog for the third time. I let it go twice before but I think that it is time to start keeping serious track of the projects that I am working on. What better way to do it than to broadcast it all over the world...

Last night I started learning how to make socks. This is how far I've gotten so far:
